Verified TB5. The original 2025 Ultima 18 has two Thunderbolt 5 ports. It is now a legacy model, not the current Ultima 18 Mk. II.
The older 18-inch 4K model uses a Core Ultra 9 275HX and was offered with RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 graphics. Its family name does not tell you the original memory and storage choices.
Family-level verification
For a used Ultima 18, ask for the original build sheet and compare the CPU, GPU, memory and storage. The newer Ultima 18 Mk. II uses a 290HX Plus and belongs to a different generation.
Reading the guide
The connector, Thunderbolt version and retail code answer different questions.
Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 can all use a USB-C connector. A port photo cannot tell you which standard is present. For this family, rely on the MAINGEAR documentation, which lists 2 × TB5, together with the configuration details shown above.
