Razer Blade, checked by generation

Razer Thunderbolt 5 laptops

A Blade name does not tell you which Thunderbolt version is inside. This page covers one 2026 Blade 16 family and Blade 18 families from 2024, 2025 and 2026. Qualifying versions have one Thunderbolt 5 port, not two, while nearby models can switch to TB4 or USB4. Match the year and complete RZ09 code. On a 2024 Blade 18, check the graphics chip too: RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 versions qualify, but the RTX 4070 version uses TB4.

Why the Blade generation matters

Blade 16 and Blade 18 tell you the display class, but Razer reuses those names across several years. This catalog contains one 16-inch generation from 2026 and three 18-inch generations from 2024 through 2026. Their RZ09 prefixes differ, along with their processors, graphics options and port standards. A product page can group several variants under a title that omits the year. Begin with the size you want, identify the model year and then compare the complete RZ09 code rather than relying on a product photo.

The qualifying Blade models provide one TB5 port. The qualifying 2025 Blade 18 and 2026 Blade families pair it with a separate TB4 port. TB5 and TB4 are different generations of Thunderbolt, so the second port should not be counted as another TB5 connection. Plan which dock, display or storage device will use the single TB5 port. A USB4 port should not be counted as TB5 either, which is why the 2025 AMD Blade 16 stays outside this list.

The 2024 Blade 18 adds a GPU condition. Razer uses the RZ09-0509x family across several graphics options, but TB5 is limited to RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 versions; the RTX 4070 model uses TB4. On the 16-inch side, the 2026 Intel RZ09-0581x family has TB5, while the 2025 AMD RZ09-0528x family uses USB4. A product title may omit the processor, GPU or year, so open the detailed specification and match the full code.

Buying guidance

Choosing a Razer Blade

  • Choose 16 or 18 inches, then confirm the model year. Blade names repeat across generations with different processors and port standards.
  • Plan around one TB5 port. The 2025 and 2026 qualifying families add one TB4 port, not a second TB5 connection.
  • For a 2024 Blade 18, check the GPU as well as the RZ09 prefix. RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 versions have TB5, while the RTX 4070 version uses TB4.
